Planning Your Stay in Southern California

Within a 60 minute drive from our offices, you can see most of the famous and fun sites that the Los Angeles area offers – the beaches, Universal Studios, Disneyland, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Malibu, Catalina Island, Rodeo Drive – these are just a few.

We believe in the “working vacation” model for recovery rather than the “sentence to be served” model that most treatment programs seem to adhere to. It is important to relax, have fun and try out new behaviors during this time of change in your life.

Our offices are close to the lovely beaches of the South Bay, Pt. Vicente – a fabulous whale watching site during the winter, whale watching cruises in both winter and summer and world-class golfing at Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes. If you want more ideas on things to do the while in the area working with us, just ask! We would be happy to help you.

Our clients have stayed at a variety of local hotels, including the Marriott Hotel and the Doubletree Hotel in Torrance, CA and the Best Western Redondo Beach Inn. If you are looking for a place to stay, we can recommend these or you can search hotel sites on the internet looking for places you would prefer, in either Torrance, CA or Redondo Beach, CA.

Clients usually fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) but some fly into Long Beach Airport. Both are convenient to our offices

Walking

Esplanade / Riviera Trail

Point Vicente Fishing Access Trail to Point Vicente and Long Point

Point Vicente is situated on the southwest point of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Perched on the cliffs, high above the shore, is the historic 67-foot Point Vicente Lighthouse, built in 1926. From the 140-foot scalloped bluffs are vistas of the lighthouse, Santa Catalina Island, and Long Point, the former site of Marineland on the southeast end of the bay.

This is a premier spot for observing the migrating gray whales from mid-December through March. The Point Vicente Fishing Access Trail descends the eroding cliffs to the rounded cobblestone beach with tidepools full of marine life beneath Point Vicente and Long Point. The crescent-shaped bay with large offshore rocks is a popular site for scuba divers, surfers, and anglers.
